I am shopping for new tires for the rears of my 69 D22. I heard that radials will make the motorhome sway more, but will make the ride smoother.
There was someone on this board that had new tires put on and had problems keeping the rig on the road. Anyone know what the issue there was?
I found that they don't make the 7.00-16LT anymore. The 7.50-16LT or the 215-85-16 replaces the old size. Any input would be appreciated. AC-Craig

I replaced my tires on my 72 D18 with radials I thought that it was a better ride all around. I did not notice any additional swaying and the ride was smoother. I also replaced all of my rims to a tubeless rim from the old split rim

Just a little note to remember, many Dodge (Budd) wheels from that era had quite narrow dual spacing. You have to maintain a certain distance between the tires to prevent overheating the tires.  Most manufacturers websites have the specs for the tires they make. Happy travels.

HI Craig, I just had new tires and rims put on my 69 d18 ( 6ea ) to the tune
of 1,100 bucks. I haven't had a chance to put it on the open road yet, but
as soon as i do I'll let you know the result.
