12v air conditioning with a dc compressor

Hey guys,


As in the other thread mentioned my dash ac is not working because of a stuck compressor. The rest of the system seems fine. No leaks, still got pressure. They guys here give me the insight that running the roof ac of an inverter is drawing too much power.


So I did a little research and voila

Just do the ac without the inverter. There are more dc compressors out there just started on the topic.


The advantage would be probably saving power, my Itasca has a ducted heat and cooling from the dash throughout the coach, So I could rewire it to run without the engine from batteries and the future solar system. My fan at radiator is already electric.

The dc compressor is adjustable between 750 and 1500w.

My goal is not to spend hundreds of dollars on the old system which I would use only while driving every other week.
