I am in the processes of rebuilding the engine of my 71' D21. I have a place that will let me go through their storage room to look for the gaskets; I am told I have a 60-70% chance of finding them. My trouble is the front motor mounts. I have had no luck, and they are completely worn out. Does anyone have a connection to a supplier with parts for a 71' Dodge 318-3 (I am told it is the garbage truck chassis)?

My Dodge Chassis Parts Catalog lists the part number of 2264675 for the -Front Support Insulator-, which is the item that has the rubber element in it. I am presuming it is the rubber part that is squashed on yours. The left and right are alike, and are the same part number for the 413 and the 440 engines, up through 1974. Try telling the parts place you have a 73 dodge hd pickup with the 440 and need the front motor mounts - see if they are the same. I replaced them on my 413 because there was total metal to metal contact. It ran nicely enough before, but I thought it would be even smoother after. I couldn't tell any difference! I was able to change them one at a time by just jacking the engine up a couple of inches one side at a time. denison

A garbage truck Chassie ?  I always thougt they were a bus chassis , but found they are purpose built chassis for motor homes and not converted bus or truck chassis as I once believed -- Sea Hag

I am unable to help w/ the part# but be careful on the price. 3 or so years ago I was looking them as well. One place wanted $40 for them! I ended getting them somewhere else for $15.

The first pair of motor mounts I bought cost about $30 each. The second pair cost $30 for both plus a little for shipping. From ebay of course. They werent advertised being for a 440 or motorhome, but they were the right items. denison
