Engine temperatute guage not working

I noticed my temp gauge was not working today after driving for over 3 hours.

Trace the wires look for shorts. (Not the Daisy Duke variety either, unless of course they are on Daisy..  Giggety)

Mine worked and then stopped. I found out that the connection on the driver side of the motor behind the master cylinder area (looking from the DS wheel well with the wheel well panel removed) is a sensor with a female spade connector was corroded and loose. I put a new connector on and cleaned the sensor then it worked. Like I've said before. "80% of any issue with these old rigs involves corrosion or rot".

If the Fuel gauge is working then power to the gauges is OK.  Circuit from sender to gauge is fairly simple.  From gauge it goes to bulkhead connector to instrument panel connector to gauge.  P30 chassis electrical diagrams and service manuals are free to Members.
