What would be the best way to tow a jeep yj with 89 chieftain 33'?

Blue Ox towbar with Blue Ox bumper brackets.  You have to take the bumper off to install the brackets since you won't have room to get a wrench behind the bumper between the tubular bumper support.

When towing, transfer case in neutral, transmission in Park.  If its a standard, transfer case in neutral, transmission in any gear.

Make sure the key is in a position so the steering wheel doesn't lock.

I used shackles on my old YJ on the leave spring shackles so I could hook up the Blue Ox safety cables easily.

Forget about a Break Buddy.  You don't need one with a YJ, and the floor contour of a YJ makes it near impossible to make one fit.

What year YJ?  If it's over 3000 lbs tow brakes are required in the state of Tennessee.

If you don't care about price and a brake buddy won't work in a YJ, then go with something akin to the system I have.
