1974 starcraft rm400 need gear shift cable.

Hello
We are in need of a gearshift control cable and the parts stores can't help us.
The one on there isn't the right one and they had it disconnected and were using a pair of vice grips to move it in and out

The cable can be custom made by a motorcycle shop. Direct replacements aren't available except possibly from RV junkyards.
Also, if not broken off, it can be repaired.
