hello everyone,

I want to drop the petrol tank from the chassis of my P30 spotscoach .
problem is I do not know whether to access from the bottom or from inside of my camper.
my rig is still very very original so I'll have to approach with caution.
any help is greatly appreciated.
thx

Every coachbuilder is slightly different.
Yet usually on p30s you can get to the tank from below.

Get it mostly empty before dropping. Hose everything down with water to get dirt from the top of the tank.
Soak all the bolts with some penetrating fluid for a few days.

When I open old stuff - I spray it every evening for 2-3 days and then start working on it.  Makes an already tough job a little bit easier.

Get some research done on replacement tanks / fuel sender units. You may drop it and see that's beyond cleaning and repair.

Good luck!

thx, it just seems that you can't access the blots from the side on mine, ill investigate further!
can't live with rubber hoses that are 45 years old!!!
if you're on facebook, follow my @sportscoach RV page to see the pictures!
thx again!

Yes the bolts are annoying, you might find replacement bolts there are times they become so rusted they snap off. As to those wonderful rubber hoses, looking back at my drop I would urge you to cut off the old ones and use new rubber for the new. Those old dried-out hoses are worse than fighting a 300lb gorilla...not worth the fight.

just had a look under my rv,..
it still seems that the bolts go trough the tank ( yes seriously ).
there are no straps just plates on the underside , with bolts with large flanges.
bloody hell,....
