Like others I'm looking for 16" wheels to replace the 16.5" that are currently installed on the rambler.  I'm going to check out a set of wheels that are available for a good price.  The craigslist ad says they are 16", but I'd like to confirm that myself before purchasing.  I'm hoping that I can find the sizes stamped on the wheels. If stamped sizes can't be found how else could I confirm that they are 16" and not 16.5"?   The 16.5" wheels I have measure about 17.25" outer diameter.  Can anyone tell me the outside diameter measurement of a 16" wheel?

I just went out and measured one of my Dodge dually wheels and it is 17 3/8" from edge to edge but another way to tell is the surface where the bead of the tire mounts. On a 16" rim that surface will be flat with a small ridge on the inner side of the flat close to the drop in the center of the rim. A 16 1/2" rim will not have the the ridge and that bead surface will be sloped towards the center of the rim.
