I am getting ready to address the dash air, with a new compressor, and I am considering moving the cooling coil to a custom box on top of the dash??
Anybody done anything like this??

High volume of air movement.
Draining off the water is the easy part, hose from the pan to the outside.

I think you will have problems with the windows fogging since you will be blowing extremely cold air on the windows not to mention the fact that it will be pretty cold on the people up front. When in the stock location you could add a little heat if it got to cold to make it cool instead of cold.

AC air does well at defogging windows, better than heat.

Until the glass gets cold on a hot humid day, then it fogs on the outside. Run with the defroster on full cold in your car on a hot day and you will see what I mean.
