Spring is here and almost time for the first road experience. Some house keeping is required first. Gauges this time, the cluster seemed dead. The below video really helped me re enable the package. These gauges are very simplistic..not to much can go wrong with them aside from light corrosion and a 90 watt ceramic resistor. This resistor is no longer made so junk yard diving seems to be in order here.

The bore just guides the piston..it does not seal the piston..The rubber square cut ring does..

Bought the seal kit from RockAuto..

I bought some rebuilt calipers for this..They are China rebuilds..That is all there is available..

Soooo...

I am going to see if my original calipers are rebuildable..

They were wet inside and getting the pistons to pop out with compressed air worked well..

Will give them a good sand blast..The pistons are steel and look great..

It is the bores that need a good look at..will see about it tomorrow

You can't get these discs in my size..Gotta make these work..They are full thickness. Never been cut before..

The above voltage drop percentage is set at 1 percent. 3 Percent is allowable and within reason. Also, 200 inches is 16 plus feet...so your inverter/charger would be on a trailer behind your RV :D. Mine is less than 5' so a 40amp load at 12V with a 3% max voltage drop would allow me to use a 8awg or even a 10. You do need to use good practices and use good wire and connectors or you should upsize your wire size to make up for lousy work. 2/0 is an amazing size wire for a 40amp anything in an RV. I have 2/0 for my 160 amp alternator to my batteries at 7' and has 1.67% voltage drop..excellent.

Here is a nice video showing how this lady made custom roof rafters being curved to match the original roof..
You should watch all she put up in repairing this travel trailer

If you want a full curved top, then a saber saw would allow you to make the curve..

If you do it like I did...where there is a 16 inch flat area in the center then a tapered straight surface out to the edge..A skil saw would cut a straight line..

Here is a cad drawing screen shot of how I did my rafters..2.5 inches tall in the center, tapered to the edge to 1.25 inches at the edge..

What are most people using to cut the trusses?
