Title: Camping World Universal Ladder
Post by: ClydesdaleKevin on January 30, 2012, 11:10 AM
When we bought the Holiday Rambler, the rear ladder leading up to the roof was a twisted shambles...the PO backed into a tree and mangled it.

So we bought a universal fit ladder from Camping World.

These ladders aren't exactly universal, but after some heavy modification I got it to work, and to look good too.

On most RVs, it probably would have been a cinch to install...on an 89 HR, the solid part of the roof sits so far back from the rear fiberglass that I had to add extention peices...and I had to get really creative, using copper pipe as inner sleeves, and even peices off the old ladder.

These are sold at Camping World for around 110.00.  They are manufactured by Stromberg Carlson, and are well made and strong.

I'm going to give this 4 out of 5, since it wasn't quite universal.  But it would fit an older Winnie or Itasca with no problems and only the required minimum of modification.
