My 4.0 BFA Onan runs like a champ, THANKS for help from the forum ! The question is, is there any upside to converting it to electronic ignition ?

Yep, im With LJ-TJ on this one.
Next to this, how often do you think you are going to use the generator? 2nd It's not an race engine that needs to perform at peak all the time.
Parts are still readily available for these machines. As long as this is the case I personally don't see any advantages changing the ignition, certainly when the generator is running like a champ :)
