Take your time here, RV solar sales and functionality is perhaps the most convoluted process I have ever witnessed. How they can take a 12 volt power system and turn into rocket science is beyond me.

I got almost 1000W of Solar on the roof.

a 3000W inverter and 10kWh of batteries -  it's a pretty long process of combining all the pieces and learning about all the details.

There are thousands of solar panels, hundreds of inverters and at least a dozen different battery types at 3 different voltage levels 12V  24  and 48V. So variability just by the options available crazy.  There are a million different ways of putting a RV solar system together.     

A 12V system charged by either the converter or alternator - is very very simple in comparison.

But don't be discouraged, there are very helpful people in the DIY Solar Forum which going to walk you through at no cost.

6000W panels?  yes very likely.  I got 5500W on my 2000sqft house and I'm net exporting.

I've done some work on building a system and when done I almost laughed at the amount of switching or components. I highly suspect very poorly design along with a very I'll informed consumer base.

I really like the SINE wave converters..for Christ sakes it appears to be 70's terminology/ design. Soon my son will guide me along,I'm quite sure I will tax his patience but he owes me more than a few favors.
