Title: Reflect-O-Lite 1400
Post by: jsda74 on May 30, 2021, 01:41 PM
I did a search and didn't find any other posts about this. I am in need of a red lens for Reflect-O-Lite 1400 tail light. I read many places that the company went out of business or sold the business to another. So, it looks as if the only way I will get one is to come across someone that may have one sitting around. I looked everywhere online and found nothing in stock, to include eBay. Any help would be appreciated.

The only way you'll find one is if someone is parting out.  It's possible, butba long... long shot.

Most people just find similar, available assemblies and replace the whole thing.

The only other option is to have one made using 3D printing.  That would be a rather expensive proposition.

Yeah, hoping I can find someone parting out on here.  :) I also keep checking on marketplace. I looked into just replacing with modern equipment, like Bargman, but the Elandan's mounting space is recessed and too small for the dimensions of the newer stuff I've found. I shall keep my hopes alive.

Patience and dilligence in searching should eventually pay off.
Let's hope sooner rather than later.

If you are still in need of a tail light lens, you may try Shane Quinters, he is a member on our FB page. He has done some 3 D printing for other members. His tele # 952-334-7374, he might be able to help you. Good luck.

I could be wrong...but it looks like a Bargman 84 lens cover goes into the 1400 fixture. What size are the openings?

Also, the 3d printing option might not be too expensive. You'd have to pay for the modeling and the printing, but it's a relatively simple shape. I'd guess 50-75 bucks at the high end, and that's only because it'd be best if it was resin. Not cheap, but not terrible for some of these "unobtainium" parts we all have to have.
