Title: AC condenser fan?
Post by: udidwht on April 14, 2021, 02:15 PM
I had replaced the AC condenser fan motor a couple years back with the following...Four Seasons 35014 (Rockauto)

Anyone have any idea as to it's CFM output?

Am considering an upgrade fan with higher output. But would like it to be simple (plug & play).

Also given that the condenser fan kicks on at approximately 221F via the temp senor in the passenger side head. I'm curious if going to a higher output will have a negative impact on the mechanical clutch fan operation given it is designed to kick on via 'radiator discharge air temp' of ~150F (not coolant temp). Will a higher CFM output fan delay this given the bi metal coil on the clutch fan is getting it's read from the air flowing from forward?

The following is a pic of my fan and ac condenser/oil cooler (dual unit)...https://www.dropbox.com/s/w9upbk1usv26p84/20200507_123242.jpg?dl=0

I have the same exact setup on my 89 and the sensor for the fan is in the drivers side radiator tank. Well, it was until I changed to an aluminum radiator which did not have that option. I wired the fans to a switch and I can turn them on whenever I want.

Sensor for the aux fan on this year is in the passenger side head.

Any idea as to the CFM output for the aux fan?

Have you considerer upgrading the clutch fan?
I'm currently looking into the 2003 and later LS Engine Fans.

You can pick those up on your local junkyard for next to nothing and I think they could fit.

Many people these days kick out the Clutch fan altogether and running only one (or two) two-speed Electric Fan(s).

I've not thought of that. How difficult of a job would that be in an RV? Would the fan/s need to be installed behind the radiator or in place of the (1) auxiliary fan?
