Title: Winnebagos Chieftain 1987 (netherlands)
Post by: wiepie on April 13, 2021, 09:51 AM
Hello All, my name is Wiebe and my wife is Marleen we live in the Netherlands

This weekend we bought a Winnebagos Chieftain 1987.
It has 83k on the 454, and the last owner stored it for 3 years in a heated shed.
The RV looks good and the engine runs perfectly on LPG but not on Gasoline.

The interior is in perfect condition, the roof has been renewed 3 years ago.

I have no technical experience with Chevy engines and hope I can get support on this forum.

Welcome!

Chevy 454:  just keep an eye on the fluids, should be fine.

Hi Wiepie,
it reads like the gasoline supply isn't working. Have you ever pulled off the fuel line on the engine to check the fuel flow?

Greetings from Germany
Thomas

Hello, my fellow Europeans.

Like Thomas stated - probably just not getting fuel. Or you fuel is just bad after 3 years sitting.
Those old metal tanks gunk up and the in-tank fuel pump units are not that reliable in the first place.

Depending on access you might want to drain and drop the tank, get it cleaned out - new fuel sender / gasoline (Benzin) and you should be fine.
