Classic Winnebagos & Vintage RVs

The old gate valve was leaking so badly that my water pump was turning on every couple of minutes so I finally made the time to change it out. According to the picture in the owners manual the valve was most likely original and there wasn't much evidence that someone had been in there before. Once the metal panels were removed it was a fairly easy job, as Rick had said it would be. I'm still not entirely sure what this valve actually does. I think it allows for the hot water tank to be filled? Anyway, I replaced it with a much easier to operate ball valve, again at Rick's suggestion. I really should have replaced/rebuilt the water lines behind the panel but they looked to be in good shape. So far no leaks so I am happy with the results.

Glad when a job is easy.  Usually, an "easy" job turns out to be a nightmare. Lol!  Definitely ball valves are the way to go. Sharkbites are the bomb.
