Title: 1987 Winnebago Chieftain 22RC - 4th of July, first camping trip/set-up
Post by: jbowles5 on July 18, 2016, 02:31 PM
Thought I'd show the set-up of our first outing in the wild with our finished project. We went to Lake Louisa State Park in Clearmont, FL. We decided to stay close to home in case there were any problems or issues.

I decided to use a pop-up shade tent instead of the awning to keep out the bugs. Lot's of mosquitoes. The weather was 100 degrees the whole time we were there, but Wally handled the heat with no problems. The A/C worked great as well as the fridge. I'm feeling much more confident that if Wally can handle the Florida heat, then all of our future journeys will go without a hitch.

This setup it great!  Camped last week and my friend had a canopy.  I'd love to either get one like this, or add an awning and screen to my rig.

Thanks so much! The awning on mine doesn't work. I was way to expensive to replace. A friend suggested I get a pop-up shade tent. Found this one on Amazon. Very inexpensive, screened (no bottom though) and goes up in 5 minutes.
