Title: Weird Vin # unable to use decoder
Post by: spudler_t on June 10, 2010, 11:06 AM
Ok I tried to use the VIN# decoder but my # is no where close to what is listed.
I have a 1971 D-20 it says 71 on title and says 6/71 on winne sticker on right inside wall next to drivers seat.
My # there and my title both have this #
3013206107411.
The decoder shows I should start with a letter for a 1971 and have other letters in it but as you can see I have no letters at all.
any ideas why my 71 is differenty then the VIN# decoder says it should be?

I believe that the data you are looking at is the "coach" data plate, not the chassis plate.  The possible locations of your chassis data plate should be in a topic already, as this is a common question.  Try the Message Search.

Some time the vin plate is near the radiator, on the fire wall up front.  others are on the inside  Hm?on the passenger side near the heater.  This no telling where the Winnebago People stuck it. But it is some where , maybe.  Search the site for all alternate locations. Hm?
