Title: Chevy Clutch Fan Replacement for Dodge 440-3
Post by: duramax on January 23, 2010, 02:49 PM
I have owned a gaggle of older PU's with the Chev 454. When we first bought our Vogue with a 440-3 . I noticed that the fan did not engage the same way as the 454. Not as quickly and wiothout the roar.  I found a catalog for aftermarket clutches and found a Chev unit that would mount to the 440. Works great. Helps with overheating.

Glad you found one.  Care to share what catalog it was?

I am sorry I do not remember but I think it was a Hayden. This was a print catalog and at theback there was listing by size. It was very easy to substitute. I spent a year trying to get my 440 to not overheat. This was just one of the mods. The most important was installing headers and especially a 3 inch exhaust system with school bus mufflers. Worked great!
