The paint of my aluminum side panels on my RV are still like new after 35 years. They must used good quality paint and clear coat or the previous owners had it in a covered storage... In the last 8 years it was only covered for 20 months and it is in the sun in Arizona and Texas! I do polish my coach every year with a electric buffer...

Those old Imperial's were built to very high quality standards. Frankly so well built I had to attempt to restore one. Recently I pulled the genset and leveled the floor, that meant replacing a 4×8 wall panel and foam. Below is a picture of the internal aluminum frame, the aluminum has not tarnished with age, it still looks quite new.
