78 chieftain with dodge 440 has major transmission leak it seams like its coming straight out the torque converter it's seaps out the bell housing plate to make a giant lake on the floor. Im hoping there is another reason for this besides a leaky converter?

Have you read the information in the Transmission section (21) of the Service manual titled Fluid Leakage - Transmission Converter Housing Area?
