Title: 1976 Chieftain

Hey everyone. new to the site, im the proud owner of a beauty 1976 Winnebago Chieftain. I actually have 2 of them one is a 77 that needs a complete overhaul. wanting to know the best way to pull the engine. Is it through the front or the hole inside?

Hello and welcome!  To take the engine out, remove the bumper, the grill and the panel just below the grill and raise the front end.  Engine removal was designed for it come down and forward.  Much more difficult to remove from inside but it is possible and has been done.

Open the front, remove the manifolds and use a stable engine crane:
