Have 454 chevy on p30 chassis with hedman headers. I need to find the right wires to fit around the headers, does anybody know the part number at a chain auto parts or where to get them.

Thanks

I would go to Summit.com and get a good set of brand name wires and also a full set of Kevlar spark plug boot protectors. They slide over the end of the wires and protect them from the header heat.

I got mine from Summit and they had boots which could be angled in whatever direction you need.  They were MSD Super Conductors.

Let us know what you decide to get and how they work out.

Just installed MSD Super Conductors No. 31809 (71.95 $ ebay) + Kevlar boots...

They are a great fit for my 1988 454... plenty long even with all my emission equipment in the way.

My old ones were just 2 years old and had 7000 miles on them - they were literally toasted.
(they were 8mm double silicon)

Hopefully they will hold up better...

Do you still have all of the original metal shielding that guides the air from the fan back over the engine? That is what will keep that from happening. If it is open on the sides into the fenderwells then you are  losing all of your cooling air out the sides.

Yes, I do have the side shields... only removed the right side for the fuel pump and spark plug wires.

Exactly the last two on the passenger side looked the same two years ago! My theory is that the 90 degree bent is just not good.
And they are great protected for any fresh air from the emission stuff.

I think the straight boots with the kevlar boots will do a better job...

They were originally straight with the insulated metal covers.

except the rear drivers side that was angled

Lol... On my rig the 2 rear ones on the passenger side were angled and I replaced them 2 years ago like it was...
Interesting that the angled ones melted...

Now they are all straight and the wires have a smooth bent without touching anything.
There is enough space for straight ones...
