A fuzzy toilet seat cover! Gotta be worth something....
These people say this rig is clean and ready to go?

Now these are what a project looks like ! frank
Respectfully, OZ, I don't think this topic was intended to inform people of RV's for sale (a la TJ's List). I think it's supposed to be more of a fun thread... It's a nice change of pace from the common "My blah blah took a dump" type posts if I don't say!
It just so happens that all the RVs posted so far have been for sale, in one capacity, or another. The fact that it's posted in "RVs and Items For Sale" just adds to the confusion. It should've been posted in "General Discussion."
I see what you're saying. Wasn't really sure what it was since the first one posted was for sale with the link and it was posted on the RVs FOR SALE... board. I moved it to the general board.
Thanks OZ! :)ThmbUp

The posts with the teeny-tiny thumbnails which can't even be seen have been deleted. If it's not a decently viewable image, don't bother making the effort to post it.
I guess all this one needs is carpet and a roof? Who woulda thunk?

Is that a Super Swamper spare tire?! I wonder if the others are the same?
This was the only exterior pic. The owner says "It recently made it back from North Dakota". ???
Those are the tail lights that everybody trying to stay original need for there old gals ! I got tired repairing and replaceing so i eliminated them a long time ago !Frank
The plate on the back looks clean and new. Cant make it out though.
It does look like a newer tag but can you imagine driving that! I can't picture the interior being much better than the exterior from the looks of that roof.
Here is one for sale on craigslist in Maine:

With charcoal?
D:oH! :D Gives a pretty good idea of how well they burn too.
Quite well I would say. "Somebody" burned it down on him. I wonder if he just by chance owed money on it? Hm? W%
I'm surprised the propane tank is still intact.
Here's a video of an RV fire.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zSjZVlnKHg
About halfway though, the propane tank begins venting just as it is designed to and the propane is simply burned off. In a larger fire, (think train wreck or storage facility) the propane may boil too quickly to be vented off and you end up with a BLEVE (Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion). Thank goodness that doesn't happen often. Rick
I have never seen an RV tank or a Propane powered vehicle tank blow. They just vent. Have been on many vehicle fires. Tires, on the the other hand do blow!
And by the way, gasoline tanks don't blow up either. They just leak out and get hotter and hotter. Movies are great for that one.
A reminder to keep your extinguisher up-to-date. I carry two in all my vehicles; a CO2 for my stuff that might be burning and a dry chemical for other people's stuff ;)
Bill

For anyone who travels with there refrigerator operating on propane & forgets to turn off the fridge before refueling This is a very likely scenario as just fumes from filling can ignite from fridge flame Also applys to hot water tanks pilot flame oven or stove top even furnace flame . The safest way to travel is with main propane valve closed There is also the probability of a vibration created leak in propane or gasoline Before fueling take a look around . Once the fire starts if you don't lose it all you will be very lucky !
Someone just took the heart right out of this one.....just setting there all sad.

Aw but in the hands of a Classic Winnebago and RVer just a masterpiece in the waiting.
Tomorrow I'll go out and look tomorrow, :P

Hello all! Newbie here learning all I can so thanks to all you RV veterans for sharing here on this forum! I am sharing my experience as my journey begins with my 1978 Winnebago Itasca. This pic was four years ago before I purchased it. After sitting four years, leaking roof, I have a labor of love in my possession now and am enjoying every minute of it! I hope there pics attach W%
Hey there dawg Look in the projects section , There are pics of my 77 Mini roof etc repairs Im sure you will find similar problems I think most of them are on page 4 or 5 Have Fun Frank W%
Hey Froggy it was your posts on that subject that encouraged me to join this site. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and experience. We are paying back by doing the same! We are really looking forward to this endeavor and even more to enjoying it when completed! I started an album documenting the journey. Take a look and see.
Haha, the Empire left their motor home after their defeat on Endor.
Do you think they parked nice and close next to the tree? Or did the tree just happen to grow there.... Hm?
Today my world slipped away.....I thought you were ready to make the trip Winny? i??
Finally!!! A quality roof repair job for all the Eyebrows out there...
If your having issues with water leaking around your AC unit....
This page is certainly a pick me up for any one dealing with their own rebuild. I love frame rebuild photos, looks like a really good job, albeit unfinished.
** edited note, seems my comment was added to different thread than I intended
Excited the day you brought it home.....Tear it apart, realize the amount of work you got yourself into.....Let it set exposed for a couple years to the elements....Time to sell.
Speaking of "nose jobs", a current topic/thread going on right now on CWVR, this one should be next.
Another perfectly done roof job for the flat tops!
Complete with dedicated electric service. You don't think that was a permanent residence do you? Hm?
It looks like vent holes in the front too?? It must of been built to "code"..... W%
You would think they would have angle the roof AWAY from the door side? I don't see anything for septic? ??? ??? ???
it probably slopes to the back side, once you take the flat tires into consideration for the grade :D
(https://images.craigslist.org/00o0o_ixKXYAyrzFB_600x450.jpg)
Is that an old F-100 hood and doors?
I think those are Cheby. like late sixtys
May be right, hood has a little point to it but it also has a lot of "nose" to it like a Ford. Don't remember bottom door trim like that on a Chevy? Then again, I don't remember a LOT of things from the 60's and 70's. :-[ :-[ W% W% W%
Just needs 'some' restoration.

Dunno. Owner may include use of a goat though?
And an excavator, she has sunk quite a ways down.
Now we will have pictures forever....
It'll hammer out...
I am thinking the damage is much worse lower on the side?
Kinda looks like it was hammered in....
Yes, action and reaction. The opposite of hammered in is to hammer out. Simple physics. Not to be confused with being hammered and hugging the porcelin. :)rotflmao
Been there, done that, had to wash the T-shirt. :D

I will remember and use this.

at least the flag survived... :)rotflmao :)rotflmao
A drive through! They don't want to look at it I guess, hence the uncut grass on that side.
Something to consider.
We see so many of these in fields, next to the home or barn, in a state of someone working on them but maybe untouched for a year or three. I would like to think that many people did not want to let go because the beasts history is that it was an accomplishment that resulted in dad driving and setting up camp, mom fixing a meal, and the kid and pup being mesmerized by it all. It's hard to let go of such magnificent peace.
They are/were one of the best definitions of America.
Road trip. And in those days, it was just gas.
I'm in a melancholy mood tonight. :) so, my favorite

You said that well Capn, The very reason I contribute to this forum is because of my youth riding around in a 73' Brave with my Grandparents all over WA State. I am personally on the lookout for a pristeine 72-73' D18. I've never owned an eyebrow, so I'll probably kick myself for buying one someday....lol
I am currently on the lookout for a later Bluebird conversion or Barth. Or even a bus conversion. But like most of us on here there is that one little thing called MONEY!
I've contemplated a Wanderlodge....Big money though, BUT you can find some mid/early 80's rigs that need a fair amount of TLC for a decent price, might take you a year to find, but you can find them.
Hey Rick. This ones in Ralph's area.
https://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/rvs/d/barth-motorhome/6334521400.html
I think I would be looking fo something a lot newer. That smashed Winnie is actually for sale on another site! 500.00 and it is yours.
We had one in my area a couple months ago where the couple was moving (I think it was their Aunts) Wanted $150 for it and at the deadline said "title in hand come and get it for free".
Blank canvas??....Or Black Canvas??
Now THERE is a unique way to repair your roof. There are tons of school buses in junk yards.

I'm not familiar with the designations on the "eyebrow" history. What does the D18 mean?
"D" meant it was a Dodge chassis. "18" "19" 20, 22, 23,24... is the length in feet.
The early models were "F" for Ford chassis. 17' & 18' F17 & F18

I saw a Barth for sale the last two years at the Windgap Bluegrass festival in PA, not too far from you, you are in NJ? If you're serious I'm sure you could track the guy down, it's not a very big community.

Theres a Bluebird not far from me Rick. I put pics up on the site here somewhere. We'll go look at it when you visit.
Yes Capn, the D-18 is the 18 footer. I'd like to put a 440 in one with hot exhaust and maybe a gear vendor. They only came with itsy bitsy 318's.
So did the "native american" designations also pertain to the same vehicles? Like a D18 brave or a D20 Brave?
Yea the mascots....Somewhere out there is schematic showing the differences between Indian, Brave, Warrior, Chieftain etc. The early model Indians came with the 413ci, vs. Brave's had the 440 or 318ci, but option's also changed with size/length and drivetrain's too. So I really didn't answer your question? Kinda like a politician? ???
This one reportedly went through the neighbors barb wire fence at a high rate of speed.... W%

haven't you ever seen a convertible winny :)rotflmao
:)rotflmao You guys have been on the farm to long. D:oH!
It's another roof replacement job on an eyebrow gone WRONG!!! That's what this is!! N:(
That is the first stage of putting the bus roof on. Remove old roof. Measure twice cut once. methinks he measured twice but then added the measurements together and cut there. D:oH! D:oH! D:oH!
Maybe he got a reciprocating saw for his birthday and couldn't resist trying it out?

Wonder if he got the replacement in yet?
Or he read on CWVRV that convertible motorhomes would be "trendy".

Tj, that's a really sanitary and clean looking motorhome for 1961 or any year really, I don't think it belongs in "Ruff winnebagos" thread.... N:( shame on you....
Ya just gotta love the steer horn!
Can you imagine changing a tire on that thing?!
Your mention of "changing a tire" reminded me of a motor home (can't remember the make) that I looked at but didn't buy. The spare tire was slung under the back, pickup truck style. The problem was that a trailer hitch had been installed with the spare in place, and there was no way to get the spare off.
1970 with AC
Needs minor repair, open floor plan.
View property anywhere you park it!
And changing tires is MUCH easier on that one!!
A manual Escalator WAY COOL! :)rotflmao
It's hitched up to a trailer, I wonder if someone is actually repairing it or if it is just a yard mule that they are also stripping for parts.
I saw that. I was thinking mule.
