Title: Seal kit for Thetford Aqua-Magic Starlite SH toilet pre-1985
Post by: 78BraveGuy on August 13, 2020, 09:03 PM
The Thetford Aqua-Magic Starlite SH in my 78 Itasca is leaking at the base and also doesn't keep water in the bowl.  I ordered a Thetford Mechanism Repair package Part no. 08368 that said it was for Starlite SH toilets.  After I opened it up and read the instructions, it says for models built after March of 1985 use seal no. 33035 and for all others use seal no. 33003.  Does anyone know which seal number is in this kit?  I don't see numbers on the Hopper seal in this kit.

I think I figured out why I was confused with this kit.  It does have both the new and old hopper seals in it, but it is missing the hub seal.  I'm thinking the main seals that are leaking are the hopper seal and the flange seal, so maybe I don't need the hub seal? Anyone have any experience with repairing an older Aqua-Magic Starlite toilet?

Wow, that stinks.  My opinion is, if you aren't sure exactly what's leaking, and since you have it apart anyway, replace all the seals so you won't have to do it again later.
