Title: New 1973 winnebago owner
Post by: chew91 on July 07, 2021, 10:20 PM
hi all, we just purchased a 1973 Winnebago chieftain D27CL, its pretty much all original and spent most of its life in storage with 23k miles on it, first on the list is a complete roof replacement, then a cooling system upgrade

it was quite a adventure getting it home, took 10 hours to travel what normally takes 2 haha

we had a fuel delivery issue in the first 15 mins, then over heating every 20, after a hour of driving(6 hours later haha) it blew a spark plug out, then came the fun of towing it the remaining hour

we are off to a great start with this old girl and im looking forward to all future adventures

Hello and welcome.  Indeed a "fun" start. Not unlike many owners who get into restoring one which has sat, unused for a long time.

Lots of info and help available to you here as you get yours ready to enjoy!
