Running on water (Meyers water burning car)

I was reading through the HHCO post and saw the part about Stan Meyers and his water burning buggy. I know he was "offed" by the people that tried to buy him out, that is no big secret but what ever happened to the technology? Surely someone else has figured this out by now?
