Anyone have experience with a 'swamp cooler' on an RV?

I made this for my sailboat that was in Long Beach harbor and could get stifling hot. Ran on a bag of ice and a 12v fan. I lined the cooler with insulated board so the ice lasted longer. I could get a weekend out of it, especially if I threw some rock salt in. My boat had less than 100 sq. ft. of usable space so you might have to make two for a standard RV. It worked, barely. Unless you pointed it directly at you it would only bring the temp down 10 degrees or so, and when it's 110 inside the boat, that's not much cooling power. I used it daily, however, during summer and it made being below deck bearable.
