Title: help with engine ID
Post by: bobz on May 17, 2020, 04:28 PM
hey folks...newbie here on this forum.....I have a 1969 d22 winnebago.....Engine casting #... 2586080 318.10 .... Just thought it was a generic 318 at first, but noticed a couple of anomalies when changing valve cover gaskets and spark plugs. The exhaust valves have positive rotators and the plugs were Autolite 146's (the "big-ones" like ford 390's have) vs the long-thread typical 318 variety. As I have not dinked with many mopar products since the 1960's.........can you guys shine some light on my curiosity? I am assuming it might be classified as a "medium-duty" truck engine....what say??

Hey bobz,

Any luck?  Bought a 69 D22 couple years back.  Vin showed a 318 but engine block casting numbers were 4006530 400-1 with a 1974 build date.  Little I know is that truck engine should have a ââ,¬Å"-3ââ,¬Â. I ended up sending the engine to Jasper.  Maybe they could help you out...?
