I do not understand this Pictures turning to Black & white thing Back to colledge i guess . But here is a picture of 3 turkeys I took at current location . They were on the road when i first saw them but by the time i was shutter ready they were partially hidden Frank
Yup, hidden so well, you can't see them. i??
Their magic turkeys....Froggy is on a trip alright :P
Groovy.
I thought that I was the only one that couldn't see them. Hm? I want what ever he is having.
Pictures that don't load, then show up in black and white?
Photos of non-existent turkeys?
Maybe Froggy has been harvesting mushrooms from around tree bases in cow pastures.
My daughter used to tell me that most were poisonous. As an OLD hippy I still believe in Peter Pan and magic.

You may want to ease up on the mushroom burgers, Froggy. :)rotflmao :)rotflmao :)rotflmao

I figured out the no turkey in the pics problem, My camera had changed from 640 setting (smallest) to very big 1250 . So when i decreased the pic size down to site max the turkeys are just a speck. Have to check settings every now and then. Starting a new post for 2015 as 2014 turned into nightmare with GI bleeding prob in August In Pittsburgh that req 4 pts of blood and upper and lower scope But found nothing , Prob returned in Feb 2015 4 more pts of blood and an upper scope Still found nothing Swollowed the camera Later in Feb Then in March bleeding again 5 pts of blood this time But the camera had shown problem area in the duodinum so they cauterized it and stopped my asperin wich i had been takeing since quadruple bypass in 1996 My Heart Dr had me restart the asperin chewable 81 mg after breakfast So Far so good Compressor braket installed and working well Frank
I am missing some thing here, is the compressor bracket installed in you or your motor home ??? W% i??
Sorry Joan , Reference to compressor bracket Refers to Aluminum welding Post Of compressor bracket One of the problems of adding a comment not related to post Sorry Frank
:(
Well continuing on planned trip, For 2016 I hope I have better luck this time, Though I forgot to pack my cash W% But luckily my son was able to deposit it in my bank and I can withdraw it when I get to Export I am back at Raystown again Weather is goofy Last night down to 45o Today about the same with rain and hail Had to fire up the furnace.First check on MPG 8.9 @ avg65 MPH Fully loaded 12000 Lbs But has increased power Hm? And so another adventure begins Frank
Just be careful out there and enjoy your trip. Take pictures for us. Be safe
Well I have moved to the second position for a wile Im now in Export Pa First need for A/C temps 97o Spring is here ! Frank :)clap
Nothing but sunny days.....
Well When I left Raystown for Export My Soninlaw asked me to bring one of his boats back with me to get it ready for the water (been sitting for a couple years) Hooking the trailer up to the R/V I yanked on the trailer to align instead of moveing R/V . 2 days later suddenly pain and numbness in R Arm / hand pain pills xrays Drs Finally see a hand specialist He diagnosed it as a neck problem @ weeks later see a Neck specialist more x rays Need an MRI Finally apt for MRI & Dr again Problem herniated disk Surgery scheduled Fri the 15th if I can get all the tests needed Blood Test OK Chest x ray OK Trying to get a stress test w Dr that did my Bypass 20 yrs ago If all goes well I will be able to drive in a couple weeks Like I keep saying if you make plans something will always go wrong $@!#@! Frank
Best wishes, Frank. :)ThmbUp :)ThmbUp :)ThmbUp
Frank you have to learn to take it easy. We don't heal well at our age. N:(
Which discs and are they going in through the front? I ask that since I had it done many years ago and when they move the trachea it never goes back in place correctly and chances of trouble swallowing are better than 50%. Ask a lot of questions on this one since some people end up eating through tubes! Not trying to be an alarmist, just warning you. Mine was C3-C6. I had to wear a cervical collar and no driving for 6 weeks although I did drive, you cannot turn your head in the collar. How did they expect me to get to therapy? Mine was due to a broken neck sometime prior to that but I talked to many doctors and throat specialist since and that was when I learned all about it. I am lucky, I can eat but I am pretty limited in what I can eat. No dry foods, they just will not go down and I tend to aspirate liquids into my lungs since the airway never completely closes. Ask questions!!!
The hernia is @ 6 and the calcium deposits are @ 7 They mentioned moveing the windpipe , The possible problems listed on the paper they give you are numerous But they are written by the lawyers The Dr doing the procedure has done a lot of them . Its not something can do myself ! So heres hopeing . They said if everything goes well should be able to drive in 2 weeks I hope The Jam in Ohio is Aug 1st But @ 80 there is not a lot of future left anyway And yes we cannot do the things we used to do, I have always had good luck with surgerys Praying all goes well W% Frank Also got picture of the Turkeys this AM early
Turkeys. Looks like Rick, Joan and Terry came to visit! :)
Hey I just reread this post, are those the three turkeys you saw two years ago that no one else saw? Talk about slow developing pictures. Wow.
(note to Mike.. :P )
There are many Turkeys here I have seen 7 or 8 at a time There were 5 This moring but I could not get the right angle I was afraid I would spook them rolling down the window or the dog would start barking Also watch a couple rabbits and ground hogs eating along with a couple Deer ! I made sure the camera was set correctly If you magnify last years pictures you can see the turkeys W% Frank
That is strange, that picture is two, 2, years to the day. And I still don't see those turkeys. You must have had a premonition that you would see three turkeys in your viewfinder one day. W%
Good luck with the surgery Frank and you are right, there is little you can do about it. I hope all goes well.
Hey Mike, I got your turkey! $@!#@!
I get herds of them in my yard, 20-30 at a time. The place looks like someone came through with a tiller when they are done. :D I will find some pictures tomorrow.
Well surgery is completed, Surgeon could not proceed as planned due to collar bones were in the way of drilling and installing titanium reinforceing plate , So instead of a 2 week healing time im @ a 6 Week mend just like a broken arm , But as usual a cathador problem has made stay a day longer and and extra B/S dealing with Foly Back @ Winnebago for recovery ! Frank
Hang in there Frank. Just cuddle up to Louie and try to take it easy.
I have found things never seem to go as well as planned as we get older. Take it easy and get well. :)ThmbUp :)ThmbUp
Frank, How are you doing? Things healing up alright?
Yeah, Frank, how are you mending? Inquiring minds want to know!
Dan
The neck has turned out to be no problem Healed well very little pain , The cathader well now that's another thing , Removed 3 times could not evacuate due to bladder is still in spasm Am trying to not do anything Very difficult ! Hopefully next removal all will work as normal Looks like another failed attempt at dream trip But that's life Frank
Well seems after a few more setbacks, Went to cemetery to visit Parents graves w my brother I strained my knee traversing steep hillside , Another couple weeks of takeing it very easy, Then the hurricanes down south preventing R/V travel But looks like next tue ill be ready Plan on stopping @ Tina,s on the way to Wilmington SC . So here,s hopeing Rick the swallowing has returned to normal But the numbness in the hand/ finger is much slower due to pinched nerve damage Hope Winnie does not need any special attention ! Frank
You aren't coming through NJ are you?
Nope TP To breezwood then south ! But whenever I get back to North Wales I am pretty close to NJ ! Frank
Let me know when and maybe we can meet somewhere.
:)ThmbUp OK Will do !
Well I was about ready to pull out Sept 20 But on the 18th as I was getting out of the R/V Louie ran out still on his leash, And tripped me as I stepped off last step causing me to fall on my Left Knee and my right hand Either broke or stoved my big finger $@!#@!, Now 2 weeks later I am going to try to pull out this week Finger still swelled up and Black & Blue not quite gone, But weather is getting cold so ready to try again ! Knee is still sore but useable So before any more ACCIDENTS D:oH! I will try to continue trip Frank
Wow sorry to hear that. I guess that Louie was so happy to finally be getting away on this trip he got a little too excited. Go careful Frank or I am going to change your name to Murphy.
Murphy here My sister said I better wait Hurricane Matthew expected there by Fri Its a Cat 4 now in Hati Its so easy for R/V,s to get blown off the road I had better wait another week with my current luck N:( Oh well that's life Frank
Better safe than sorry Murphy :)ThmbUp
I just looked at the weather and it is going to come right up the coast in some form or another and in any of those forms you do not want to be driving in it. Should be gone on by by Sunday.
Due to all the damage to roads and towns & all the injurys i have decided to head home for election day then mabey in March try again ! Just saw where i was going to pass thru New Mexico they just had a Radiation leak Could be very serious Just another sign DONT GO ! Sister only lost 1 tree from all the rain soil could not support in high wind Fell on neighbors fence Minor damage I may try to detour to Elk county on the way home to see the Elk and do some boondocking Later Frank
Where are you at now?
Still In Export (Pittsburgh area )
Yea, I think this Indian summer is going to end real soon and then it is going to go the other way and you are not going to want to be in the RV at that point.
Well decided to cancel trip to N Carolina/Texas & California Due to injurys and all the natural disasters that happened on my proposed route Decided to wait till spring Went up to Elk County to see the fall foilage and some animals Will post some picks as soon as i am rested ! Back at North Wales Frank
Injuries?
Captndirk To better understand go to the beginning Pg 1 This is a trip i started in 2014 and have not yet completed Injuries on Pg 2 Frank !
Oh my! Thought you meant new injuries. This tread needs to be a YouTube video/documentary like the wagons coming over the plains.
Imagine...... The camera and lights come up, a scene of wagons, Turkeys/livestock, women folk walking along side. You start to hear a soft thunder which grows in volume until suddenly.......
A 1977 Winnebago goes bouncing past with a beep beep!
I'm on a roll this morning. :)rotflmao
Yep Thats a good description With the driver hanging out the window trying to hold on to the steering wheel :)rotflmao Here are the pics from Elk County Frank

Makes it all worth it, worth it all. :)clap
Had to edit my previous post. First sentence was shrunk down to microscope size.
Well , Since last post Winnie blew a Power steering High Pressure hose to the Power Brake Master Cly Ordered a new one @ Advance (Motor home only ) But it is not the same (shorter) I installed it after heating and rebending the metal pipes , It fits but is only 1/16 of an in away from the spinning pulley for the P/S . So i had the rubber hose part of the old one replaced But the guy cut the metal ends off the old hose Then only made the total rubber part the same length as the old one Thereby ended up shorter than original Wich cleared the pulley by 1/2 in . So now the new one clears by 1/4 in It is solid and does not move around , But any how was trying to get started by the 21st (first day of summer) But my sister asked me to delay As she is haveing floors replaced in her double wide and is very busy right now, So another delay on my trip I have to add some freon to my roof air it is only putting out 58o at the outlet Ordered valves and r22 from ebay wile waiting I am back @ parking spot in Export Looks like ill be going to Ohio after all @ end of July Then on to N Carolina Will update as i move on Trip I got 9.7 MPG North Wales to Export 298 mi Avg 60 MPH !Frank
Safe travels Frank.
Well 2018 and still planning on trip The right little finger is still not back to normal , I think it is as good as it is ever going to be . Planned on leaving ASAP Had a stress test/blood test done 4/25 Wile working on the winnie 5/3 the Dr called and said You must go to the emergency room ASAP Hemoglobin is down to 4,7 (normal 11.0 to 18.0) Mine has never been over 10.0 So 3 more pts of blood upper GI and 3 days in hosp , blood now 8.9 But Floor Dr discovered i am also wheezing diagnosis COPD . so now taking meds for that also & have to see a pulmonologist 5/31, Lung efficiency @ 71%. Scheduled colonoscopy 6/13, results negative , Swallowed camera 6/22 results negative , Dr said ok to do what i want . Finish R/V prep and leave for Export 7/17 towing my boat .Arrive Export 7/18 @11:30 ! 7/19 gastroenterologist called and said further investigation found 2 bleeders in small intestine, Yea i made plans again STUPID ! When i told him i was now in Pittsburgh he said no problem they can do the procedure @ Pitt Medical & he would do some leg work and get back to me . My Advice is if you want to do anything do it before your 80th birthday After that Shi- Happens ! Frank
Hang in there Frank :)
I certainly hope the Doc will do the legwork since it was him that cleared you to go, what prompted the "further investigation"? Sounds like when a friend of mine was in a car accidne and flipped his Jeep several times. they released him from the hospital with a sprained neck. He got a call the next morning and was told NOT TO MOVE! An ambulance is on the way to get you. He had a severely broken neck!!!! He is now a rich man! AND a VERY, VERY lucky man!
I do not trust doctors at all but they have you by the, well, you know. As we age we need them and they know it.
I had received a call from his nurse a few days after i had retrieved and sent the capsule into the testing lab in California She said the results of the biopsy done at the time of the colonoscopy and of the camera were both negative . So i made plan,s ..............Mistake ! Then the Dr called me himself ??? But what can you do ? You are at their mercy . They run the show ! Frank
They run the show up to a point, I have fired several doctors because they thought that I did not need to know something. Wrong answer, movin' on. Of coarse that doesn't bother them, us old farts are just dying to see them. W% :) Yea I know, not one of my better jokes but true.
Well They made all the arrangements, shipped necessary records etc . I am scheduled for a enteroscopy @ University of Pittsburgh Medical center . tomorrow @ 1:45 arrival @11:30 time needed for paperwork and prep. This procedure is like a endoscope, but now they go into the plumbing further (beyond the stomach). Where the camera found two bleeders Hope they fix them This having low hemoglobin is rough always feel like i just worked 12 hrs non stop. Maybe this will fix my chronic anemia . Frank
hey Frank.. if you need a pint of 0- give me a buzz!
Hey Old Bud, all the best. Lauren and T.J. Canada Eh! :)ThmbUp
Best wishes Frank.
Hey Frank, thinking of you :) :)ThmbUp
Thanks Guys TJ i missed ya @ Ohio Well procedure found 3 lesions 1 currently bleeding Repaired all 3 I hope this will be the end of the problem The tool used goes an additional 6 ft into the stomach allowed discovery . Really feel beat this time More so than other times Later Frank
Well you hang tough big guy. I got a feeling were not going to be able to keep up with you once you get back on your feet.
Hopefully once the blood supply builds back up you will be jogging again. You need to get some of that high energy blood from Tina!
Well this time was much different from previous ones, Very sore throat .Took much longer for anesthesia to wear off , Feel more beat up in general ! You can really feel a difference when you have enough blood . Hopefully no more transfusions will be needed ! Thanks for all the well wishes ! Frank
Well still had bleeding for a wile after procedure, So i cut my Aspirin to every other day . bleeding stopped in a day and as far as i can tell has stopped completely, feeling like a human again even getting some things done ! Now to decide if i want to spend $1500.00 for a set of tires or Selling Rig ! My Son wants to get a trailer ! :( Frank
Well considering I don't know shoot from putty. Frank you're too free a spirit. Spend the $1,500.00 on the tires. Your to use to going when when the urge strikes. When you want, were you want. A trailer just doesn't fit. How you going to tow you boat. Bunking with the kids seems like a good idea at the time. i?? FREEDOM :)clap :)rotflmao
I love the TJisms. Always a refreshing point of view. Thanks TJ. :)
Frank, I think this is a decision that only you can make. You have to honestly think about your health and say to yourself is is prudent for me to be on the road and out in the wilderness alone?
A little story, I had a great Uncle who after WWII became a prospector for gold and silver and later for uranium. He lived in an old WWII Dodge Army ambulance converted into a camper. He drove that thing everywhere and that man could live for months at a time out in the deserts of the western USA. He would come back to NJ once a year or so to see My grandmother, his sister. He would talk forever since he never had anyone to talk to for the most part. He would tell us of being robbed several times. He was shot once in the process and somehow managed to survive on his own out there. Last time we saw him he was still prospecting in the late 60's and he was in his 80's. He just disappeared. We never heard anything about him for 35 years until I got a letter from a retired Texas Ranger who had come across his truck in some very off the beaten track in New Mexico and his remains were still inside the truck on his bed. He told me it took two years for him to track down any living relatives and I was it. I still have his old tools, what few there were and a dairy he kept. It mentioned how he was not feeling well and had a fever and had had diarrhea. There were a couple of other entries but that was about it. The Ranger told me he had seen this before and it was most likely radiation poisoning from the years of uranium prospecting. But the point of the whole story is that he died doing exactly what he wanted to be doing. Living life his way.
So in the end it is all up to you. Hope I didn't depress or bore you with that story.
Frank, I cannot embellish on Rick's post.
You have aided, assisted and entertained many of us here. In my case only a few years, but I have definitely benefited from your broad knowledge and advice.
I agree that it "is up to you".
I sincerely hope that your decision is what is best for you.
Think you deserve that.
Great short story Rick. Whatever choice you make Frank, will be best.
:( Hate to lose my independence (winnebago) But just as i had to give up hunting alone , It may be time Even though i do not go where there is nobody else around (like hunting) I am still considering , i?? Frank
