Don't even know what I was looking for at the time but I ran across these and though they would be great for some of the problems we have on motor homes. Also the T locks.
Take a look through the fasteners on this site.

What made me think of this was a members post from a while ago where he fastened his awning rail with rivets, these Monobolts look like just the ting for that.
Reminds me of what we used to refer to as 'Automotive Rivets'. Amazing holding power, and the rivet gun looked similar to a Bolt Cutter.
As an aside, based on engineering, a rivet has far more lateral holding power than a screw.
Thanks Rick for the links it was me who fastened the awning with rivets. Looks like some great options for fasteners.
I can always remember the posts but can never remember who it was that posted it. Seems I had reservations on whether the rivets would hold based on the fact there is nothing behind there but foam and usually rotted wood and a very thin layer of fiberglass. These items seem well suited for that, the one splays out to hold in soft materials but I don't see where it seals. The other one says it seals but it seems it needs a solid surface at the back.
