Frank you have to learn to take it easy.  We don't heal well at our age. N:(

Which discs and are they going in through the front? I ask that since I had it done many years ago and when they move the trachea it never goes back in place correctly and chances of trouble swallowing are better than 50%. Ask a lot of questions on this one since some people end up eating through tubes! Not trying to be an alarmist, just warning you. Mine was C3-C6. I had to wear a cervical collar and no driving for 6 weeks although I did drive, you cannot turn your head in the collar. How did they expect me to get to therapy? Mine was due to a broken neck sometime prior to that but I talked to many doctors and throat specialist since and that was when I learned all about it. I am lucky, I can eat but I am pretty limited in what I can eat. No dry foods, they just will not go down and I tend to aspirate liquids into my lungs since the airway never completely closes. Ask questions!!!

Froggy1936

The hernia is @ 6 and the calcium deposits are @ 7 They mentioned moveing the windpipe , The possible problems listed on the paper they give you are numerous But they are written by the lawyers The Dr doing the procedure has done a lot of them . Its not something can do myself ! So heres hopeing . They said if everything goes well should be able to drive in 2 weeks I hope The Jam in Ohio is Aug 1st  But @ 80 there is not a lot of future left anyway And yes we cannot do the things we used to do, I have always had good luck with surgerys Praying all goes well  W% Frank  Also got picture of the Turkeys this AM early

Hey I just reread this post, are those the three turkeys you saw two years ago that no one else saw?  Talk about slow developing pictures.   Wow.

(note to Mike.. :P )

Froggy1936

There are many Turkeys here I have seen 7 or 8 at a time  There were 5 This moring but I could not get the right angle I was afraid I would spook them rolling down the window or the dog would start barking Also watch a couple rabbits and ground hogs eating along with a couple Deer ! I made sure the camera was set correctly If you magnify last years pictures you can see the turkeys   W% Frank

That is strange, that picture is two, 2, years to the day.  And I still don't see those turkeys.  You must have had a premonition that you would see three turkeys in your viewfinder one day.   W%

Rickf1985

Good luck with the surgery Frank and you are right, there is little you can do about it. I hope all goes well.
Hey Mike, I got your turkey! $@!#@!

I get herds of them in my yard, 20-30 at a time. The place looks like someone came through with a tiller when they are done. :D I will find some pictures tomorrow.

Froggy1936

Well surgery is completed, Surgeon could not proceed as planned due to collar bones were in the way of drilling and installing titanium reinforceing plate , So instead of a 2 week healing time im @ a 6 Week mend just like a broken arm , But as usual a cathador problem has made stay a day longer and and extra B/S dealing with Foly   Back @ Winnebago for recovery !  Frank

Wow sorry to hear that.  I guess that Louie was so happy to finally be getting away on this trip he got a little too excited.  Go careful Frank or I am going to change your name to Murphy.
