I want to get rid of my old 17" two piece wheels and go with a larger one piece wheel. Any ideas or experience out there?

My late '73 build Cheiftain II has one piece 19.5" rims that share the same 5 x 8.0 bolt pattern that you are looking for. That would be the easiest way I can think of for a rim and larger tire upgrade.

My chassis is a RM400, in later years it was the M500, M600 etc.  At some point they went away from the 5 lug wheel so watch for that but I know 1974 still had the same setup.

Here are a couple pictures of my one piece 5 x 8.0 19.5" rims. I believe mid year 1973 these wheels became available when the front disc brakes were added.

In searching around for something else I found the part number for these one piece wheels. It is a Budd #89340 wheel and is 19.5" x 6".

Reid out hear in Tucson Arizona.  I own a 73 Brave and am getting tired find tires (pun intended).   Is it possible to switch out the Rims on this chassis to accommodate a more readily available tire?

Thanks...

Hi Mark,

17.5"s now.  I would like to change to a more common tire maybe thinking of at least 17" maybe 18"rims to accommodate.  My old Brave's tranny is geared very low, no overdrive so trying to go to a larger than 16"ers.  Any ideas?
Thanks

Here's some thoughts on it.   I put - >  19 in the message search:

Can't say as I ever heard of 18" wheels discussed.

And there's info on 17" but those appear to be on sources for tires rather than wheels.
