Hi all,

Just wanted to say hi and tell about my new first RV.

We've been living in rental houses for so long, that I needed something of my own to work on.  After honing in on which classic I wanted, I found one sitting for about 6 years, but with lots of promise.  Got the engine to start right up and purr on the first try after investing some time prepping it after it's long rest.

Came with a bunch of service records, reciepts, and manuals.  Most things check out and work fine, but lots of stuff has been replaced like, the kitchen cabinetry, appliances, rear bench/bed, furnace, water pump, front seats.

The dinette table was replaced with one that's not as wide and one of the benches moved closer to compensate so that the bed still forms, but it's too small for the cushions to fit or for someone to sleep on.  (Edit: I just saw a photo of an original interior, and looks like the cusions were replaced and is why they don't fit.)

Has a 4kW Onan genset.  I had to rebuild it's carb to get it to handle the A/C turning on, but now it goes for hours without a hickup cooling the rig beatifully.

Now that I've been working on it for a while and been camping in it, I'm noticing how much more awesome this is than I expected for what I paid.  A lot of things needed repair to some degree to become functional, but now that pretty much everything is working, I'm so proud to finally be a Winnebago owner  Y!

I installed a factory stereo from my wife's Mazda Miata that has an input for a cd changer.  I wired an 1/8" headphone jack to it and added a switch to activate it, and now have an input for my ipod.  I might add a wirless Bluetooth reciever from Belkin to transmit music wirelessly from my laptop or iphone :)

Well, we live in Northern Colorado up on a hill and love the many close RV friendly campsites there are here for short trips with my awesome new gas guzzler.  Thanks for contributing to such a great resource for these classics!
