I got a request from "johnnytugs1" about manuals for his 1977 Itasca C25C.  His e-mail In-Box is "FULL" so I am posting the information here.  It is a good example of what can be a confusing topic and is a good example of the level of detail one may need to resolve exactly what information aplies to a given configuration.

JT,
To start, you have one of the more confusing combinations.  So pardon the long response and no, you are not pestering me.  While I can point you to where the data is, you will have to deduce exactly what applies to you.  Feel free to ask additional questions if need be.  I already know you started your project over a year ago where you had a lot of water damage and everyone benefits from your relating how you solved problems.  Your engine replacement pictures are great.  I also suspect there is a interesting story behind the Water Heater splitting.

1.  To organize the information on your computer make yourself a directory off the "My Documents" directory called RV.
Under the RV directory make yourself separate directories under that called "My Itasca", "Camping", etc.   Under the Itasca directory make yourself several directories like Chassis, House, Furnace, Water Heater, Plumbing, etc.  Just place relevant data in the appropriate folder so you can find it later.

2.  Manufacturers like Winnebago purchase a standard chassis from a supplier (Chevy, GMC, Ford, Dodge, etc.) and build the house on top of that.  There are separate manuals for the chassis, the house, and all the separate appliances.  So, you end up with a whole lot of separate manuals.  Additionally, the coach Mfg (i.e. Winnebago Corp) will typically build this years house (i.e 1977) on a previous year chassis (i.e 1976).  However, while that may be typical it is not a hard and fast rule.

3.  For your chassis:  Chevy produced seperate manuals for each year.  Chevy also combined coverage for Pickups, Vans, Step Vans, Blazer, and Class A P30 chassis information into these manuals under the monicer "Light Duty Truck".
In general, it is a 2 or 3 book set:
ST-330-YY: Service Manual [General info, adjustment, Remove/Replace Procedures]
ST-333-YY:  Unit Overhaul Manual (Component Overhaul information after it has been removed from the vehicle)
YY = Year of the manual (74, 75, 76, 77, etc.

If the 6th digit of your Chevy chassis VIN "7" then you simply replace YY with 77
As shown at the following link, you can either buy separate paper books or the digital CD-ROM version that has both of them on it.
http://www.faxonautoliterature.com/Search.aspx?c=48837

If the 6th digit of your Chevy chassis VIN "6" then you have to get the 74 manual set plus the 76 Supplement
http://www.faxonautoliterature.com/Search.aspx?c=44791

Use the following EBAY link if you prefer that approach:
http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=%2874%2C75%2C76%2C77%2C1974%2C1975%2C1976%2C1977%29+%28Chevy%2CChevrolet%29+Light+Duty+Truck&_sacat=&_odkw=%28Chevy%2CChevrolet%29+Light+Duty+Truck&_osacat=0&bkBtn=&_trksid=p4506.m270.l1313

Now fully decode the Chassis VIN to know exactly which chassis you have.

I am not sure if you have a P30 with a special cab or a G30 that the front sheet metal has been relaced by Itasca with a special fiberglass front end.  It's not a stock van version nor is it a standard P30 Step-Van version.

4. For the Itasca house portion, Winnebago produced to 25ft Itasca Class C Models in 1977.  The Mini C25C and the Seafarer C25CD versions.  From the pictures I have seen of your rig, I believe you have C25C model.  You do not have the blue accent line coloring on the side and grill.

Winnebago RV Parts and Accessories Catalog: http://www.winnebagoind.com/resources/manuals/pdfs/Winnebago_Catalog.pdf

Appliance Manuals require knowing the Mfg/Model # for what is installed.

Both 74 and earlier Eyebrow and 77-80 Winnebago coach manuals provide useful repair information:

They cover sheet metal repair as well as internal systems repair information.  Both of these books would have assisted you when you repaired the overhead bunk area.

I just bought a owners manual for a 1986 Winnebago through a dealer who more or less odered it and had it sent to my address and it cost me $38 for the little thing. Not really alot in it other than your basic knobs and buttons.

Dave, thank you so much for the info and the great ideas! i'm sorry i didn't see this sooner. but it's deffinitely not to late
i haven't been able to do a thing to it since i pulled the motor and trans. wifey's been finding "better" ways to spend the money i have saved for it. (oh well), i will put this info to good use. the motor is almost done and i have found a guy in my neighborhood that will rebuild the trans for 600. everything but the case will be replaced. i believe that is a pretty good price especially since i don't have the .....um .....nerve to do it myself. but i maybe forced to. we'll have to play it by ear. anyhow, thanks again for coming thru and i will be checking into it.
jimbo thanks for the heads up on that as well.
JT
p.s. i did build a canopy over it out of chain link "top rail" and covered it with a large tarp. it didn't make the winter though (it gets pretty windy in my back yard) but i will add more support where needed and try it again.

Dave, what is the definition of "coach" ? Sorry if it seems like a stupid question........... I have the 80's Rv repair & maint. manual. I thought I also purchased the service manual but can't find it in my computer. Mark or Tina anyway to find out if i did purchase it? You feel the "77- 80 Winnebago & Itasca Coach Service Manual" & "Eyebrow Winnebago Coach Service Manual"  will be beneficial in my situation?
Thanks,
JT

JT,
The Chassis (Engine, brakes, transmission, etc.) section is the part Dodge, Chevy, etc. made.

The Coach (house) section is the part Winnebago made.

The "80's Rv repair & maint. manual", "77- 80 Winnebago & Itasca Coach Service Manual" & "Eyebrow Winnebago Coach Service Manual" are only for the coach part.

For the chassis part (Chevy in your case)  you will need a Chevy manual (see paragraph 3 in my earlier post).  They are not sold through the CWVRV club store.  Class C is a Chevy G series Van chassis.  Class A is the Chevy P series motorhome chassis.   Refer to paragraph 3 in my previous post for where to procure chassis manuals.

To see what you have already purchased from the CWVRV store, whem logged onto the site, select the store tab from the main menu then just below the main menu you will see a club store menu.  Select "My Orders" tab to see what you have already ordered.

John FYI  The Chevrolet chassis manual does NOT cover the automatic transmission That is a separate manual  I have a cd of the 1977 Chevrolet chassis manual you can borrow if you need it  Frank

John,
To understand the GM manual concept:
Service manual (ST-330-YY) has R & R and general repair procedures.

Overhaul Manual (ST-333-YY) has compponent rebuild procedures

http://www.faxonautoliterature.com/Search.aspx?c=48837

Far as I know, the CD's at http://www.faxonautoliterature.com contain both service and overhaul manuals for the year you purchase.

For 1976 the manual list is at: http://www.faxonautoliterature.com/Search.aspx?c=44791

For 1977 it is at: http://www.faxonautoliterature.com/Search.aspx?c=48837

Bishko is another source for manuals.

Not sure why Franks CD does not have all of it unless he is referring to a cd of the multiyear P30 Service and Maintenace Manual (free download from the CWVRV free manuals section).

Opps my bad. I have a paper chassis manual that does not cover overhaul. I never looked at the C/D I thought it was the same. Ahh but upon installing and looking at C/D it does have overhaul for all units Trans,Engine A/C etc.  I dont know how to copy a c/d on a laptop Frank

On a windows machine. select "start" and "help and support"
In help window type in CD copy"
You can learn the ropes of CD copy.

Only thing that may limit your ability to copy a CD is if the CD-ROM drive in your laptop does not have write capability.
