Window torque operator replacement.
« on: February 04, 2020, 01:07 PM »
Hello! I did a search here and Google on replacing some of my internally stripped window torque operators. No real answers.

I have a 1993 Winnebago Chieftain 34RQ. Somehow I found a post years ago that I can't find anymore. It said they are riveted from the outside of the frame and windows have to be removed to replace.

My question is, has anyone done this? Has anyone figured out how without removing the windows? If I have time (younger with family and work full time) I may try drilling one out and reattaching with tri-bulb rivets. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I don't have the answer, but I do have the exact same question. One of mine is completely stripped and fell apart in my hand.

I also have to do mine and I looked at them about a year ago and I don't remember anything striking me as all the hard to get to. I will look at it again tomorrow if I get the chance. I think if the window is all the way open it is right there. I will look tomorrow when it is light.
