Dodge M-500 Front brake pad part numbers
« on: February 02, 2020, 08:31 PM »
Hi Dave. I used your page for the front brake pad part numbers on my M-500. (Very handy! Thanks!) I did find 2 different size front pads for the same front axle. (Maybe I was looking at the page wrong??)  I took a pic of each and of all the part numbers I found for each. I thought you'd like the numbers to check and maybe use.
   Hope this helps,  Craig

Brake pad style numbers (e.g. 7020-D87 & 7019-D269) are based on the FMSI numbering system.

7019-D269 was used on the smaller M300 rigs with the single piston caliper.

7020-D87 was used on the larger M400, M500, and M600 rigs with the dual piston caliper.

Each brake pad mfg produces different quality pads (standard, premium, etc.) and the other letter codes used (MX, PD, MGD, PF, UP, TS, etc.) in a part number represent those different pad qualities.

They are both listed under the M-500 chassis unless I'm missing something. The part numbers carry over to the right side of the page and the two different sizes (part numbers) are listed under the same front axle.
  Did I mis-understand the page?

I am not sure what page you are looking at.   I have pages for each configuration and a general pad/shoe page that lists multiple configurations.  BTW, the M500 data does not apply to the M375 chassis listed in your title.

Morning Dave - The brake configuration page for the M-500 Hydroboost and Hydrovac systems (where all the part numbers are listed) shows Chrysler #3744500 as the brake pad used. That pad is for the single piston caliper.  The 2 piston caliper uses #4186999. Both of these pads are listed under the one part number on the page (by way of the aftermarket part numbers listed). The P/N SX269 is listed with the 7020M pads. These are 2 different sizes. (I learned this by buying both). I did some googling and found the different part numbers.

All the part numbers listed do not match. There are two different brake pads listed (aftermarket numbers) under the 3744500 column.
(I knew I would not be able to explain this well...!)

And yes, these parts are not for the M375. I'm fixing up a M500 front axle to put under the M375. I'm hoping the disc brakes will stop better than the drums.

(I wish I could call and explain what I'm seeing...maybe I'm way out in left field...I've been there before)

Hope this helps, Craig

Morning Dave,
I didn't see the page you linked too! I went to the Dodge class A MH chassis tab, then to the Brake info tab, then Configurations tab, then the M500 (RM400) tab, then to either M500 Hydro-vac or M500 Hydroboost tab.
That's where I found the part numbers.

Thanks.  I am fixing the configuration pages also.  I just have not had time to get to them yet.
