where is the wiper fluid reservoir?
« on: September 03, 2019, 11:19 PM »
Hello, I am new here and I am a new owner of a 1981 Holiday Ramblette.  This may sound ridiculous but I cannot find the wiper fluid resivior.  I have looked in the engine compartment as well as in the dog house and I was hoping someone here can tell me where it is.  Thank you for your help.

Find the hose for the squirter's at the windshield and work backwards. Then again, you might not have one or it's missing? When you hit the switch for the juicer, do you hear a motor runnin? Have a helper track that down and you'll find your bottle. Good Luck

Or where it used to be. They got pretty brittle over the years and just plain fell apart. Most people have an aftermarket one rigged up in there now.

I don't know where it used to be.  There is a resivior with blue fluid in it but it says Engine Coolant.

Does the hose go to the radiator? If not and it goes to the wipers then someone changed the cap! That is not smart!!!!  The wiper tank will usually have a pump on the bottom with the hose attached to it and the tank is just a plain tank with noting fancy looking about it. The coolant overflow tank will not have a pump, the hose will go in the top usually but there will be a molded in passage along the side that goes to the bottom of the tank so air from the radiator goes into the bottom and up and then out through an overflow on one side of the tank.

Also, the coolant hose is usually 1/4" where the wiper washer is 1/8"

It sounds like someone changed it out with a universal coolant bottle...since I don't know of ANY coolant that is a blue liquid...lol!

Does it work?  When you hit the washer button does it spray the windshield?

Also...is a Holiday Ramblette a Class C (van front) motorhome?  If so, what type of van did they use as a conversion?  Chevy, Dodge, or Ford?  Do a search for that year of van and you should be able to find the factory location no problem, since everything under the hood is going to be more or less the same in a van or a van based motorhome.
