I read how it's possible to clean the flu. That there is also a baffle inside that rusts out.

The fridge had a faulty cover on the roof vent, for a long time, allowing some moisture to get in. Am I reading the link correctly, that the way to work on the flu is to remove the roof cover, then use a cleaning brush to run it up and down the flu?

Is there any way to pour rust inhibitor down the flu afterwards, to halt rust? And is there a new flu baffle available? i??
