Hi all :) So, I recently had a new steering box put in my 1975 D21 M300. The dude forgot to line up the wheel so it points straight at the same time the tires do. So, I need to take off the steering wheel and rotate it to the proper position and put it back on. Has anyone had their wheel off? I am unsure how to get the plastic parts off so I can get to the nut. Also, is it hard to pull off once the nut is off? Do I need a special tool? Thanks in advance for the advice.

Couldn't tell you how to get the plastic parts off, other than to look for screws on the back side of the wheel.

But you will need a puller to get the wheel on the steering shaft.  Usually two or three bolts thread into the steering wheel and turn the center jack screw to pop steering wheel off of the shaft.

1. Remove the 20 amp Horn/backup light fuse
2. Make sure front wheels a point straight forward.
3. On rear of steering wheel remove the  small Phillips head screw on each spoke holding the horn button to the steering wheel
4. Remove large nut holding steering wheel to shaft.
5. Using steering wheel puller, remove steering wheel
6. Align steering wheel back on shaft
7. Install tighten large nut back on shaft
8. Reinstall horn button to steering wheel
9. Reinstall fuse
10. Have a brewsky

Step 10 is definitely the most important.
