Lug nut torque, 68 D300

Before I get told to search, I did. Farthest back I saw was 69, which is a totally different wheel (8 lugs vs my 6). Google is no help either.

Anyone tell me what the lug nut torque might be on a 1968 Winnebago, with 6 hole coined wheels? Chasis is d300. Tire shop isn't even sure.

It's a rare wheel type, like I said.

what size are the studs? That will give you a starting point.

 Here is the best reference I can provide from a 69-71 Dodge Truck manual.  Use wheel stud size (e.g. 5/8"x18) to determine wheel nut torque value.

I don't know if the 69 values apply, because those are different wheels. My studs are 5/8 (size of wrench that goes around threads), but there are just 6, on stud pilioted wheels. Tire shop had to guess and put them at 200. Told me to try and find out, because wheels like this just never come in. Seems like that 200 is the way to do it. Can't be sure.

I have 5/8-18 studs with flanged nuts on my 78 Chieftain.  I use a 1 1/8" socket on those nuts.  That flanged style nut has a torque value 300-350ft lbs.

A 5/8" stud that uses a cone nut, like used on a normal car and I think is what you have, will require less torque due to the cone design.  Max value I would use is 200ft lbs.  I think the 125-175 front, 175-200 values are max for your application.
