hello I'm Matt and i have a 73 brave d18
i love these RV's since the first time i seen on.
i have always been about the custom car lifestyle and when i seen one of these come up for sale i could see it on the ground.
.
so far i have gutted the inside to get access to the frame and and removed the floor.
i have to start welding in the C-notch this weekend and have the rear axle out to send to Moser engineering  to get narrowed  so i can tuck the 20x10 dually wheels inside the body.

I hate you.

Seriously though, this is awesome. I like where it's going. Where are you located?

Tell us about those tires and rims! 20x10, what what!? How did you make the rims compatible? I'm bookmarking this for sure!

FYI, Mayhem, you do not get notified from this site when someone replies... The easiest way (I've found) to check for replies is ADD BOOKMARK at the top of the page. By bookmarking, you can quickly check all threads you are following at once, from just about anywhere on the site.  :)ThmbUp

Understeer is when you see the tree, if you'll take. Oversteer is when you only hear him on impact.

Nice fabrication work!  looks good.... cant wait to see it come together.

what are you plans for the interior?

Hollow shell?
competition sound build?
Party room with disco ball and lighted dance floor?
Full retro interior with working appliances?!

My vote is for #3 or #4   :)clap

JessEm

Heck yeah on grungy patina! It would take another 40 years to reproduce that! The key to pulling it off (IMO) is having near 100% functionality of whatever on-board systems are present, and a plush interior. I might also paint the bumpers all nice & new in a glossy black sheen to match the rims. This would kind of create a boarder that defines where the AWESOMENESS starts and stops, as well as saying, "Yeah, I could paint it, but I'm not." At that point, I would consider painting the entire bottom edge black as well... Then polish just the aluminum bottom trim to a shine and BAM, those rims are completely tied in. It looks like you're rolling a truly classic rig on a new frame or something. ... I guess I kinda like those subtle hints that say it was left a certain way intentionally.

The beauty of customizing is that whatever you decide, it's almost impossible to screw up! (but I suspect you're already well versed in this department). :)

It deff. wont be a  sound build been in that world and it gets old and costly.
was part of team fusion and out extreme vehicle was producing over 175 decibels.
over 100,000 watts of power and 56 16volt batteries
also was a judge with IASCA competition org

I'm thinking of going with a vintage modern lounge look
getting rid of bathroom  changing layout some  due to lifing floor

all the waste tanks were cut out for ground clearance

looking at building a new front bumper to integrated a led light bar  rear bumper is rotted and will need rebuilt as well

paint will also vary based wifes option.

may restore only front to original and repaint only the tan/gold  lower panels and W strip on sides

if I paint whole thing i can do some patch pannels and remove some body holes

I suggest you contact Nexen about single vs dual load rating.  I am fairly sure the advertized load rating is only for a single.  Dual load rating will be lower
eg: 2271 single would be around 2000 for duals.   (2 x 2271) + (4 x 2000) = 12542

Have no clue what the weight rating of your custom chassis would be.  Original Dodge specs will no longer apply to it.

Also, I see no load rating specs for the rims on the Mayhem web site

I wanted to do the same with my 72 Winnie shorty, but stopped when I realized that if have to rip up the entire interior to cnotch.

In your journey and luck with just a simple drop? The m300 chassis makes it difficult to match parts but wanted to drop it 3" at least in the front and 2" in the rear possibly more.

Liking this tho! Sometimes wished my interior wasn't so mint I would care about gutting it to do this

Thenoob

How you planning on doing the front?

Isn't the motor going to be right in the way of the axle?
