I recently took 3rd place in a dessert contest at a local BBQ place here in Utah. While I was deducted points for using canned apples, (snobs, haha) I felt the judges missed the point of such an easy recipe. The point being super easy to make and only three ingredients.

Needed:

1 can of apple pie filling.
1/2 box of yellow cake mix, or cupcake mix. (it might be less than half the box.)
1 stick of butter. (keep cold)

8x10 baking dish.
Foil.
Vanilla ice cream (if required.)

Preheat oven to 400. Pour apple filling into dish, sprinkle cake mix until apple filling is covered. Cut butter and place over entire pan on top of the cake mix. Cover with foil if required. Bake for 45 minutes or until crust is golden brown and bubbly. Serve warm or cold, plain or with ice cream.

You can substitute peach pie filling, cherry pie filling or a mixture of whatever fruit you like.

I hope you like my award winning ( :D ) dessert that everyone will love.

Lefty

Love apple pie, or cobblers.. especially when hot & fresh out of the oven.
This would make a great "treat" to make on our next camping trip, since it's so simple and doesn't require a bunch of stuff to make.
Thanks for sharing it.
