Title: Parasite Draw On 12volt System
Post by: LJ-TJ on October 09, 2018, 09:24 AM
So! I noticed when I switched to my house batteries and just wanted to draw on the batteries for lights. The TV on/off light was on as well as the micro wave light was on as well as the TV antenna booster light was on. How do you guys by pass all these other draws on the batteries so your not sucking them down with unnecessary draws? Hm?

aren't the TV and microwave 110 volt? Are you still plugged into shore power? The antenna booster, if it is the original, usually has a switch.

:)rotflmao I have no idea how things are hooked up in this rig. D:oH! When I hit my inverter every thing comes on. TV, I have one of those new fancy HD antennas that you have to hit a button and it lights up like a pinball machine. The micro wave lights up. The inverter lights up. Shoot the hole rig lights up like the Christmas tree in time square in December. D:oH!

Well, If you are turning on the inverter then you are turning on the AC converted from the 12 volt batteries. That is why things are lighting up. Simple solution is to not turn on the inverter and just use the 12 volt lighting instead.
