Title: Norcold 682 removal from 1991 Chieftain
Post by: FJR1300 on July 11, 2018, 08:16 PM
Hi Guys

Having trouble getting it out. Got the adhesive unstuck from bottom rails and nipped about a quarter inch from where the rails will slide out but still will only come out about 1" on top and a bit more on bottom. Have tried wiggling every angle and it still feels like its sticking on something.

Ideas?..what is it catching on? Should I jack up the ceiling?

Thank You
Don

When I removed mine - same model it had two short fins on the sides, bottom back. They were fastened to the framing and only accessible from the outside panel. They were not shown in the manual. As well there were two screws, same area holding the bottom down.
Also when sliding out the first few inches I had to go 1/2" bottom, 1/2" top, back and forth for first bit.
It also helped to push from the outside. Shift the photo and you will see one of the screws, lower right.

Thanks Terry for pic. There was however a strap attached to top of fridge. Had to go through the vent bug screen on roof to get at it. It's upside down and right side up for next few days. then we'll give it a try.
