My speedometer in the winnebago ,started to make noise louder and louder. The pointer goes like a flag up and down.
I checked the cable ,that was allright.
If i turn at the backside you can feel something is wrong inside.
Can somebody help me out with a used speedometer. It is the square one used in the pre 75 models.
In europe it i impossible to find one.
Next week I happen to be in Calfornia for a holiday ,touring around with a rental winnebago.
So with some luck I can pick up one.
Otherwise it can be send to my home the total cost I can transfer to you.

Try spraying a lubricant around the part that you are turning on the back side. That fixed mine when the needle was jumping. Still working after many years.
Sounds like the speedometer cable needs lubricant, probably not the gauge itself.
I thought it would have been the cable as well but the terrible noise louder then the engine comes out of the speedometer.
If I remove the cable and turn the speedometer by hand on the backside the same noise appears.
It is defenitely inside the meter were something is worn out.

try some light oil on that shaft then, like sewing machine oil, nothing to loose!

I allready pm him but unfortunately he didn' t had one. So my quest for a speedometer is still open.

Unfortenately it was a wrong speedometer so the search is still open.
I complete dash is oke aswell because then I can use the one with the round speedometer . I rewire the rest of the dash then.
