Classic Winnebagos & Vintage RVs

I recently discovered that when my radio is on and I switch on my headlights the radio cuts off.  Any clues???

Battery issue?  Electrical? Fuse?

Possible bad ground on the radio, when the light comes on in the radio it overpowers the bad ground. Radios are a nightmare since most are aftermarket and installation is hit or miss on the wiring. Most people just grab the first hot wire they can find and tap into it not thinking about what else it does. You need to trace the hot wire to it's source and also check the ground. The hot wire should be fused and go to the fuse box.

I would be looking at the radio ground. It's possible the radio is grounding thru the dash lamp wiring. When you turn on the lights, the dash lamps turn on and the radio looses it's ground.
