Happy Thanksgiving, past.  We're hunkered down away from the Black Friday shoppers.

This was our 4th Thanksgiving.  The first we were in sleeping bags and stealing electricity from a defunct Lowes to run the convection oven.  FWIW I ruined dinner by having the microwave and convection working at the same time.  Since then we've had a tail-gate Dayton generator and now an Onan.  We started with a pair of Group 27 deeper cycle batteries and now have 4 GC-15 deep cycle batteries, and a 3-stage charger.  The furnace has a new sail switch, propane valve and circuit board and is reliable.

We have reliable heat and lighting, leftovers from a 3# turkey breast done in 30 minutes in a pressure cooker* and have much to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving.

*Poor Planning** on my part does not justify running the generator 2 1/2 hours to roast the bird's breast.  The batteries didn't need the electricity.  Your bird looks great.

** Piss Poor Planning on Your Part Does Not Constitute an Emergency on My Part.

Good morning, pvoth;

     Thank you.  You have provided me with both hope and encouragement that this can be done, even in the smaller confines of a motor home RV, which could very well become a true "home" at some time in the future.  The Elandan does have a Magic Chef M71B-10 Micro Wave Oven with the convection oven option also available in it.  This looks like something that I can do, now that I see that clearly it is being done.  Of course, now I also feel challenged in this realm, so I will need to rise and do something like this also.

     Now I just need to find a full size replacement glass turntable for the M71B-10 to replace the somewhat smaller substitute that is in it now.

     Seeing the possibilities that exist in a "non-conventional" home really does have me thinking about this.  I already know about the ways to set up and use the Elandan with my radios.  You have shown that it really is a place where you do have "all the comforts of home," and you truly can live that way.

          Enjoy;

"non-conventional home"?

Terminology update:

M.A.H.  = Mobile Alternative Housing.

We just returned from a Thanksgiving trip to Noccalula falls campground in Gadsden,Al. (It's only about an hour from our home). Spent the week with friends we had met on our month stay in Gatlinburg,Tn. this summer. They came with their new travel trailer and thier son came with his family in his new travel trailer. We were able to get three sites together, and had a lot of fun. It did get bitter cold that week here though.. low 20's most nights and highs only in the low 30's with a very cold north wind. Went thru 2 propane tanks for the week just heating the rig.
We had a full Thanksgiving feast! Two turkeys, one deep fried and the other roasted. Ham, and all sorts of other foods and desserts. Three picnic tables completely covered with food.
The ladies really outdid themselves, cooking everything in the RV's... except the turkey we deep fried.

We treat that convection oven like a oven.....last night cookies.....right know its heading for 45o for the pizza we just bought...BTW we add extra ingredients to our frozen pizza's....Our convection is a large GE  Profile....sometimes a bit complicated to operate D:oH! but super none the less.....

it amazing what we get cooked with no counter space....and we use a inductive 2 burner most of the if we need to "cook".....hardly ever use any LP....
